Silver Forest Images is the photographic storytelling studio of Dave Brooks, an early stage wildlife photographer from Sonoma County in Northern California.

I've been a follower of birds since I was very young, a few years ago I purchased a Nikon D500 camera paired with a 200-500mm f/5.6 lens. Digital imagery yields so much that we otherwise never see, or only get a vague idea of what's happening and what it looks like.  I have always had a focus on raptors, hawks mostly and lately I've had the good fortune of extended time with a family of Great Horned Owls near my home.

All of my images are captured in their natural setting, with no contrivances, feeding, baiting, luring or other setup arrangements and no flash illumination.  My photographs are often cropped significantly to better show the action and tell the story.

I usually explore the nearby lands within easy reach of my home in Sonoma County, California and enjoy photographing a wide range of birds and animals as I encounter them.  I hope you enjoy my efforts and return many times to share these tales.

Cheers,

Dave Brooks
